Introduction

Welcome to the Undernet Anti Spam Campaign page. This campaign is dedicated to combatting spam of all kinds on IRC.

We provide a forum and mailing list to allow you to share information about the IRC spam threat, and host a database of known spammers so they can be blocked from your channels.

We actively engage in seeking out and destroying botnets and websites distributing trojans, and have had much success in doing this.

While we focus on the Undernet, many bots can be found on multiple networks and we will report our findings to those network administrators

Achievements

Here's a brief list of our achievements:

• 9484 Bots detected
• 390 Bots g-lined (growing constantly)
• 6 Websites removed
• 7 Nicknames suspended

How do I protect myself?

There are some simple rules to follow to make sure you don't become infected with a spambot:

• Don't follow links given by spambots. Even just visiting the site could infect you
• Don't accept DCCs or download files from people you don't know
• Don't install scripts if you don't know exactly what they do
• Don't type //$decode, /run or /dll in mIRC
• Do use a virus scanner
• Do use a firewall
